On October 20, 2024, Neema Gakweli Warrakah, author of the book "Empress of Revolt", celebrated the 61st Mashujaa day (heroes day), hosted by the deputy Governor of Kilifi County, Hon. Flora Mbetsa Chibule in honour of Mekatili wa Menza, the great heroine of Kilifi county, whose life and fight for freedom is being re-discovered in the book "Empress of Revolt" (the Kiswahili version of the book, "Mtawala wa uasi" will be released late October 2024).
